Gatara Townsend aspiring Marriage and Family Therapist and an advocate for Mental Health. Born and was raised in Louisville, KY. Gatara is a dedicated college student who is pursuing her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration on clinical therapy. Currently in her Senior year at Western Kentucky University, Gatara realized in high school, that the look on mental health and the stigma behind therapy needed to be changed. She graduated with her Bachelor's in 2022 and aspires to graduate with her Master’s in Spring 2025. Due to some personal experiences, with a deep-seated passion and desire, Gatara knew that her calling in life was to help others and through a few trials and tribulations, found her place in clinical therapy. Diversity is not a stranger to Gatara working with people of all backgrounds, the goal is to make clients feel heard and understood, giving support and most importantly advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Gatara enjoys creative writing and reading, building her outside view of the world and those around her. With a clear vision for the future, Gatara is committed to her field and will eventually serve as a licensed therapist and own her practice where she will provide treatment and provide hope for the future.
